All is not lost yet

A gap of nearly 5 months since my last blog, I had kind-of hibernated myself... (Not really waiting for the right opportunity to start again...)

And then something shook me up this weekend. Probably for the first time in my life - I completed a sarkaari kaam without a single rupee of bribe. I submitted property tax all by myself.

This blog is dedicated to the local officers who designed the self-help booklet and the SAS (Self Assessment Scheme) form. I, an illiterate in local language, was able to fill-up a form that didn't have a single word printed in any of the languages that I understand. All I had to do was to follow para-by-para instructions from the booklet...

Hats off to those officers... My faith in Indian democracy and the system got a lease of life. All is not lost yet...

Obama India mein hota to...

For a few days I have been thinking what would have happened if Obama ran for an election in India.

Some may find it equivalent to Sonia Gandhi running for presidency, but there is a big difference. Sonia is not born in India (disclaimer: I don't have a problem with that), and AFAIK, an American citizen can grab any position in the USA except the White House if he is not born on the US soil. Furthermore Americans are proud of being part of a country that is made up of immigrants, our politicians try to malign everyone who doesn't vote for them!!!

My imaginations run 360 degrees, in all 10 dimensions.
 Congress will try to find his links with Gandhi family, branding him as thee heir (that's the only way they think they can gather votes, believing that all of their current leaders are too impotent to mobilize any masses)

 BJP will want him - trying to overcome its hindu-only image

 Mayawati will be head over heels giving him ticket branding him as a minority

 Left would be in dilemma (as always - they never know what they are doing, why they are doing it and what would be the results of that, because they actually know nothing).

 Tamil politicians (always behaving as if they were still acting in movies, with scenes of love and sex, jailing of rivals) would try to combine Dravidian-Tamilian-LTTE-RamSethu issue.

The list would run endlessly because the country's leadership is full of have-beens, never-will-bees.

And then some news channel will come with a breaking-news story saying Obama is a relative of Osama-bin-Laden because Obama rhymes with Osama. Obviously they wouldn't have the courage to take it back, or to apologize later on!!!

Kuchh bhi ho sakta hai!!!

Pappu can't wait saala!!!

Nature's miracle of miracles - life within life...

Have you ever felt a living being without seeing it or without being able to see it?

There were moments in my life when I found myself on the 7th heaven... But seeing my yet-unborn kid growing larger, feeling its kicks on my wife's belly... nothing... absolutely nothing can come anywhere close to the moment when I felt the baby kicks on her belly for the first time. I felt as if the baby is trying to touch my palms with its feet.

That was 3 weeks ago, and since then not a single hour goes by without me thinking about it; and I simply can't wait to lay my hands on the baby, my baby...

God help me... I just can't wait...

Pappu can't wait saala!!!

first letter to www

Hello World!!! (reminds me of the first chapter in all Computer Programming books).

For a long time, I had been thinking about writing something, just as an outlet for all the thoughts and the words that fail to come out of my mouth (I mean - the non-@#!$^& ones). This thought became more serious when I felt Mother Nature's biggest miracle a few days ago... more about it later!!!

And tonight, as I fail to catch some sleep, I can't find a better way to spend time than hitting the keyboard on my laptop- looking for a nice url that I can associate myself with, and can easily remember it myself - and typing out something, just to my satisfaction...

And finally I must confess: nothing satisfies me like a genuine, nice humor. And also, as the URL indicates, I can never have too much of F.R.I.E.N.D.S., though I am not in the same league as some of my buddies whose favorite pass-time was FRIENDS trivia. For me, asking "Who was Huggsy in FRIENDS", is as good as "Who were the two people named Hari in Sholay ".

Any takers???
